Aditya Srivastava is a 26-year-old alumnus from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, originally from Lucknow. He has achieved the top rank in the 2023 Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination, which grants access to coveted government positions, including the Indian Administrative Services (IAS), Indian Foreign Services (IFS), and Indian Police Services (IPS).
Before his triumph, Srivastava had worked for a private firm in Bengaluru and attempted the UPSC exam unsuccessfully once. In 2022, he ranked 136th. Determined to pursue his dream of becoming an IAS officer, Aditya opted for the IPS and commenced training in Hyderabad. His father, Ajay Kumar Srivastava, expressed pride and surprise at his son's achievement. Srivastava's academic journey underscores his commitment to excellence from an early age.
He completed his schooling at CMS Lucknow's Aliganj branch with outstanding results and excelled academically at the renowned Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur), pursuing a dual B.Tech and M.Tech degree. Following his educational endeavors, Srivastava gained valuable professional experience, spending 15 months at Goldman Sachs. However, his stint in the corporate sector instilled in him a deeper aspiration to contribute meaningfully to society, prompting a pivotal career shift towards civil services.
Srivastava's decision to embark on a career in the Indian Administrative Services (IAS) was rooted in a desire to effect positive change at the grassroots level. His prior attempt in the 2022 exam, where he secured the 236th rank and opted for the Indian Police Service (IPS), exemplifies his resilience and commitment to his goals.
