CBSE Class 10 Second Board Exam 2026: Following the announcement of results, the Central Board of Secondary Education has started the process for submitting the List of Candidates (LOC) for the second board examination. Schools can submit the LOC from April 16 to April 20, 2026. Examination fees for the first and second phases will also be accepted during this period, while submissions with late fees will be allowed on April 21 and 22.

Key Guidelines Issued by CBSE

  • Students who missed the first phase can still apply by paying the required fee.
  • Those already registered only need to pay the examination fee.
  • Students have the option to withdraw from the second exam if they choose not to appear.
  • Mathematics level can be changed (Standard to Basic or Basic to Standard).
  • No changes in other subjects are permitted.
  • Students can improve their performance in up to three subjects.
  • Students under the ER category are not eligible.
  • Compartment candidates can apply through their respective schools as per rules.
  • CWSN students will continue to receive existing benefits; no new registrations are allowed.
  • If a student is absent in the second exam, the main exam result will be treated as final.
  • The syllabus will remain the same as the main 2026 examination.
  • No corrections will be allowed after LOC submission.

CBSE has advised schools to carefully follow the guidelines, ensure accurate student data, and complete submissions within the given timeline.

Instructions for Private Candidates

The board has also released a separate notice for private candidates appearing in the Class 10 second board exams 2026. Students from the 2024–25 session who were placed in the compartment category, including those who did not appear earlier, are allowed to apply under the third-chance compartment category.

Applications must be submitted online through the official CBSE website. Forms with regular fees will be accepted from April 16 to April 20, while submissions with late fees will be accepted from April 21 to April 22, 2026. No offline applications or submissions after the deadline will be considered.
