New Class 10 sample paper highlights updated structure with Biology, Chemistry and Physics sections for clarity.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has unveiled the revised Class 10 Science sample paper for the 2026 board exams, providing students and teachers with a clearer picture of the updated question-paper format.
As part of the board’s efforts to align with new assessment objectives, the Science paper has been restructured into three distinct sections Biology, Chemistry, and Physics making it easier for students to navigate the exam and focus on subject-specific content.
This sectional layout is a reflection of broader reforms aimed at reinforcing conceptual understanding, analytical skills, and practical knowledge, rather than rote memorisation. The changes support a more balanced assessment of theoretical and application-based learning.
The newly released sample questions cover a gamut of topics across the three disciplines. In Biology, students can expect questions on plants and animals, genetics, and human physiology such as digestion and circulation. Chemistry questions deal with foundational concepts like chemical reactions, while Physics may involve basic mechanics and energy concepts.
By presenting questions clearly divided by subject area, the sample paper helps learners understand how marks are distributed and how the board expects answers to be structured. This clarity is particularly useful for students preparing ahead of the exam season, as it allows for focused revision and improved exam strategy.
The Class 10 and 12 board exams are scheduled to begin in February 2026, extending through March and April for various streams. Through early access to sample papers and marking schemes available on the official CBSE academic portal, students can practise accurately and build confidence before the final tests.
Educational experts recommend that students practise with these sample papers repeatedly to familiarise themselves with time management, question patterns, and different formats from short answers to case-based and application questions.
Overall, the revised sample paper represents a step toward more transparent and student-friendly board exams, aiming to reduce stress while enhancing learning outcomes across core scientific disciplines.
