The Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE) announces biannual board exams for Classes 10 and 12, to be held in March and June-July.
The Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE) in Raipur announced today that the state board exams for Classes 10 and 12 will be held twice a year.
The CGBSE issued this directive following extensive talks with the state government. However, the department has yet to announce whether the change in the board test structure would take effect this academic year or next. A decision on the matter has yet to be taken.
According to the official guidelines, the first examination will be conducted in March and the second exam will be conducted in June-July. However, only students registered in the first examination will be eligible to fill the second examination application form but change of subject will not be accepted.
Students who fail all courses, get supplemental instruction, or are absent, as well as those who seek to improve their grade (in all subjects), will be able to take the second test. Students who have passed all courses will be able to fill out a form to enhance their marks in one or more areas in the second test.
The remaining scheme of the opportunity exam will stay unchanged.
This comes a few days after Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced that students will get an option of appearing for Class 10 and Class 12 board exams twice a year from the academic session 2025-26. Interestingly, he made this announcement while launching the PM SHRI (Prime Minister Schools for Rising India) scheme in Chhattisgarh under which 211 schools of the state will be upgraded.
