Education Minister urges young learners to embrace AI to educate, empower, innovate and shape India’s future.
The Indian government has put fresh emphasis on the role of artificial intelligence in reshaping the education landscape, with the country’s Education Minister calling on students to fully embrace AI to educate, empower, and innovate. At a key session held during a major artificial intelligence summit in New Delhi, the minister laid out a vision where AI becomes deeply intertwined with learning and future opportunities.
Speaking to a gathering of students, educators, and young professionals, the minister said that the world’s attention is increasingly turning to India as a nation that is rapidly adopting AI in meaningful ways. He highlighted that advancements in technology are not just tools but transformative forces that can help India become a global knowledge superpower, contributing in significant ways to national goals and growth.
“In the same way we learn to read and write, we must now learn to think with and through AI,” he told the audience. His message was clear: AI is not a distant, futuristic concept, but something that students can use today to strengthen their learning, creativity, and ability to solve complex problems.
The minister also pointed out that India’s youth are uniquely positioned to drive innovation in ways that previous generations could only imagine. Young professionals and students, he said, are thinking differently and must be encouraged to bring AI into every aspect of education, from classroom learning to research, creative exploration, and social impact.
He stressed that AI should be used responsibly and ethically, ensuring that tools are developed with fairness, transparency, and inclusivity in mind. By fostering a mindset that pairs human judgment with artificial intelligence, his vision aims to create a generation that is both technologically skilled and grounded in human values.
The session was part of a broader effort by the Ministry of Education to integrate AI into the country’s education ecosystem, ensuring that curriculum, training, and policy frameworks evolve alongside technology. This includes initiatives to build digital skills, enable access to AI learning resources, and support collaborations between schools, colleges, tech innovator communities, and industry partners.
For students present at the summit, the minister’s words were inspiring and encouraging. Many spoke about the potential of AI to help them learn faster, solve real-world problems, and build careers in cutting-edge fields. With technology advancing at an unprecedented pace, the minister’s call to action resonated strongly with a generation eager to learn, create, and lead.
