Education Ministry launches no cost AI courses across disciplines for students and educators.
In a move designed to democratise access to advanced digital skills, the Ministry of Education (MoE) has announced five free online artificial intelligence (AI) courses available via the SWAYAM portal. The courses span a surprising variety of domains from sports analytics to accounting ensuring that learners from across academic streams have options that align with their interests and future career paths.
The offerings include:
AI/ML using – Python introducing learners to AI and machine learning concepts, with hands-on training in Python, data visualisation, statistics and optimisations.
Cricket Analytics – with AI geared toward sports enthusiasts, this course explores how AI techniques apply to cricket data, performance metrics and strategy.
AI in Physics – designed for undergraduate science students, this course shows how neural networks and machine learning can solve real-world physics problems.
AI in Chemistry – focusing on chemical modelling, reaction prediction and drug-design using AI tools.
AI in Accounting – targeted at commerce and management learners, this module explores how AI can drive automation, fraud detection and forecasting in finance.
All courses are free to enrol and access on the SWAYAM portal. The design emphasises practical learning case studies, real-data projects, and applications rather than purely theoretical content. This approach offers learners from diverse backgrounds a chance to build contemporary skills that align with industry, research and teaching needs.
For students, educators and working professionals alike, this initiative presents a significant opportunity to upskill without cost barriers. Whether you’re in science, commerce, sports analytics or classroom instruction, there is a course aimed at expanding your toolkit for the AI-driven future. With digital readiness increasingly critical, the MoE’s step reflects recognition that learning ecosystems must widen access, span disciplines and meet emerging workforce demands.
If you’re interested, a quick step would be: visit the SWAYAM portal → search for “AI” or the specific course title → register for free and begin. Given the flexibility of online delivery, you can learn at your own pace and gain certification (where applicable) to enhance your credentials.
In short: five smartly designed, absolutely free AI-skilling pathways now await Indian learners a timely push into the future of education and work.
