The Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee will start the registrations for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 today (August 28). Candidates who are keen can visit the official website to register.
They must visit the website at gate2025.iitr.ac.in and register themselves for the exam.
It is to be noted that the registration for GATE 2025 was earlier scheduled to begin on August 24 but was cancelled due to unknown reasons. Though there has been a change in the registration date, the deadline for GATE 2025 is September 26. Students should also note that the dates are liable to change, the IIT Roorkee information brochure has stated.
Exam details
GATE 2025 will be held from February 1 to 16 and the results will be declared on March 19. This time round, there are no international exam centres, hence international candidates will have to choose an exam centre in India and appear for the test.
As per the regulations, a candidate can select three cities from the list of examination cities given in the brochure. All the three choices must be from the same GATE zone.
The last date for change of category, paper and examination city, adding a new test paper, and change of personal details is November 6. All these changes can be included with an additional fee applicable as per the change.
The exam will be conducted as a computer-based test and the papers will comprise the following:
(i) Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) type, where only one option out of four options is correct. Remaining questions may be of (ii) Multiple Select Question (MSQ) type, where one or more than one options out of four options is/are correct, and (iii) Numerical Answers Type (NAT) where answer must be keyed in by the candidate using a virtual keypad. Candidates will use only an on-screen virtual calculator provided for the piupose of the examination.
