Harness the Future: IITM Pravartak’s AI & ML

Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) are not just buzzwords they’re engines driving a technological revolution. With India’s AI market poised to reach $17 billion by 2027 according to NASSCOM and BCG the need for talent is sky-high. Yet currently, there’s a stark 51% shortfall in skilled professionals: out of a demand for over 629,000, only 416,000 specialized experts are available.

To address this gap, IIT Madras’s innovation hub, IITM Pravartak, in collaboration with Emeritus, has launched the Advanced Certificate Programme in Applied AI and Machine Learning. Designed for working professionals, this initiative blends academic rigor and industry relevance to produce job-ready experts.

The program is powered by experienced faculty like Prof. C. Chandra Sekhar, former head of IIT Madras’s CSE department, and Prof. Dileep A.D., a research scholar from IIT Dharwad. Learners receive immersive training: live sessions, hands-on virtual labs, access to Gen AI tools, and practical case studies all geared toward solving real-world challenges.

What sets this programme apart? You'll earn certifications from IITM Pravartak and IBM alongside globally recognized credentials. With up to 30 real-world projects, a capstone assignment, and options to build your professional portfolio on platforms like GitHub and Kaggle, you graduate with more than knowledge you gain proof of capability. A two-day optional immersion at IIT Madras Research Park further enriches the experience.

And for professionals who are concerned about the cost, the fee of Rs 1.5 lakh (plus GST) proves beneficial in the long run, especially in the market where people with AI skills get four times more salary. Its flexible structure, which has a mixture of pre-ridded lecture and live mentorship, ensures that the learning process can continue easily even among the busy task schedules.

In short, this program is not just a training but an investment under the future, which prepares professionals to use the transformative ability of India's digital future.
