IGNOU introduces online programs in agriculture covering certificates, diplomas, and postgraduate degrees, aiming to enhance human resources, promote entreprene
Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has launched a series of online courses on the emerging fields within agriculture. The institution offers courses at different levels, including certificates (six months), diplomas (one year), postgraduate certificates, postgraduate diplomas, and master's degrees. Candidates interested can apply for courses through the official website of IGNOU- ignou.ac.in.
The online programmes offered by IGNOU aim to improve and sustain the quality of human life and productivity of agriculture and allied sectors through Open and Distance Learning (ODL). The university's vision is to extend the outreach of agriculture education by harnessing convergence between ODL and conventional systems through national and international linkages. These programmes are designed to provide students with essential knowledge and skills required for various roles, including those related to various allied fields of agriculture and startup initiatives.
Following are the objectives of the School of Agriculture under IGNOU
These programmes include various subjects and courses on Horticulture, Dairy Farming, Organic Farming, Beekeeping, Poultry Production, Sericulture, Agricultural Cost Management and Policy, Water and Watershed Management, Dairy Technology, Meat Technology, Value-Added Products from Fruits and Vegetables, Horticulture, Agribusiness, and Food Safety and Quality Management.
