GDC Kakryal and Sunderbani sign MoU to share resources, knowledge, and development opportunities.
In a major stride toward academic cooperation, Government Degree College (GDC) Kakryal and Government Degree College (GDC) Sunderbani have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen institutional collaboration in Jammu and Kashmir.
The partnership aims to encourage faculty exchange, joint research, resource sharing, and collective academic events between the two colleges. The principals of both institutions formally exchanged documents during a ceremony that emphasized teamwork and mutual growth. This step is expected to enhance the learning environment, particularly for students in remote regions who often face limited access to advanced academic resources.
Speaking about the collaboration, college authorities expressed optimism that the MoU will foster inter collegiate cooperation, helping institutions build stronger teaching and research frameworks. The partnership will also enable faculty to share expertise, coordinate workshops, and co-develop courses that align with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
GDC Sunderbani, established in 2011, currently offers undergraduate programs in the arts and plans to expand into science streams in the near future. The college administration, under its dynamic leadership, has been focusing on holistic student development through seminars, community projects, and academic counseling. The MoU with GDC Kakryal complements this vision by introducing structured collaboration and shared learning experiences.
Similarly, GDC Kakryal has been developing its academic profile through local outreach, digital teaching initiatives, and student development activities. This partnership adds another dimension to its growth trajectory, reflecting the evolving nature of higher education in the Union Territory.
The collaboration holds the potential to become a model for other state-run colleges in J and K, demonstrating how inter college cooperation can lead to better academic standards, improved employability, and a stronger academic network.
In the long term, such agreements could help reduce regional disparities in educational quality while nurturing a spirit of unity and shared responsibility among institutions.
Both principals expressed their commitment to ensuring that the MoU is implemented meaningfully, with measurable outcomes that benefit students, teachers, and the wider academic community.
As higher education enters a new era of collaboration and inclusivity, initiatives like this serve as beacons of progress for academic transformation in India.
