KTR Warns of a Crisis in the Education Sector

BRS working president KT Rama Rao said that Telangana's education sector is in crisis, and that the Congress government neglects the state's education department. He claimed there were allegations in the media that the government planned to close 1,864 schools this year due to a shortage of students. He stated that the state was considering eliminating government schools rather than improving public schools and delivering quality education to low- and middle-income students.

He stated that the state was considering eliminating government schools rather than improving public schools and delivering quality education to low- and middle-income students.

He pointed out that in 2024, admissions in govt schools decreased by about 2.4 lakh compared to the previous year, which he sees as a danger signal for the state’s education sector. He demanded that the govt identify and analyse the reasons for declining enrolment in govt schools. KTR said about 25,000 teacher posts were lying vacant in the state and urged the government to fill the posts immediately.

He said the party won’t tolerate any attempt to distance poor and middle class students from public education and accused the Revanth Reddy govt of making lame excuses to evade its responsibility of providing quality education to the students.
