NCERT’s 65th Foundation Day

On 1 September 2025, NCERT (National Council of National Educational Research and Training) celebrated the future of its 65th Foundation Day in New Delhi. Addressing the occasion, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that NCERT is not just an institution, but a "centre of knowledge", which has shaped the ideas and future of students of generations.

The main attraction of this program was the launch of Diksha 2.0. It is an advanced digital learning platform, which has been prepared with the aim of providing quality education to every student. This platform is device-friendly, supports personalized learning pathways and includes AI-capable features, such as structured lessons, adaptive assessments, and available in 12 Indian languages available in 12 Indian languages. The objective of all these reforms is to make education more inclusive, interactive and technology-oriented.

Pradhan also released a special book titled “Utkal Jananinkara Sujogya Santana,” dedicated to 100 eminent personalities from Odisha, acknowledging their contribution to the cultural and social fabric of India.

In his speech, the minister emphasized that NCERT is responsible for reform-oriented, technology-oriented and methods based on global standards. He reiterated that by 2047, the vision of making India a developed nation depends on encouraging critical thinking, creativity and multilingual efficiency among students.

Foundation Day, thus, was not only remembered by the past of NCERT, but also a blueprint of the future - a future where education would be more digital, inclusive and in line with India's aspirations.
