Kondiah earned his BSc and MSc at BHU before joining the faculty in Chemistry (1922-1941) and rising to become the department's head. In order to join the freedom movement, he left the university in 1941 and spent the next five years behind bars. He founded a chemical business in Andhra Pradesh after being released from prison to aid in the nation's transition to independence.

His family, which includes his late daughter Smt. Indira Devi, grandson Chaitanya Kalipatnapu, and son Dr. Indusekhar Rao Kalipatnapu, established the Kalipatnapu Foundation.

Indushekhar Rao and BHU Registrar Professor Arun Singh signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the presence of Indushekhar Rao's wife, Chaitanya Kalipatnapu, and his niece, as well as Vice Chancellor Professor Sudhir Jain.

Vice Chancellor Jain praised the family and the Foundation for their kind donation, which is intended to help students further their education. According to him, these contributions help BHU fulfil its mission more fully by giving worthy students from low-income families access to excellent educational opportunities.
