Symbiosis Skills & Professional University Takes Top Honors in NIRF 2024

During a press briefing on Monday, the Education Ministry unveiled the National Institutional Ranking Framework 2024. Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said during the rankings announcement that the NIRF Rankings will expand to include three additional categories starting in 2024: skill universities, open universities, and state government institutions.

Only three institutions were included in the NIRF 2024 skill universities ranking. The three universities are located in the distinct states of Rajasthan, Haryana, and Maharashtra.

  1. Symbiosis Skills and Professional University (Formerly Symbiosis Skill and Open University)
  2. Shri Vishwakarma Skill University
  3. Bhartiya Skill Development University

In the meantime, the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras), which has been winning a lot, has taken the top spot in the category of best engineering colleges once more. Similar to past years, IITs have dominated the top 10 list in the engineering category of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Rankings 2024, with nine IITs and one NIT.

The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2024 awarded the top rank to the National Law School of India University, Bengaluru, in the category of best performing law colleges. In second and third place, respectively, are National Law University (Delhi) and Nalsar University of Law (Hyderabad), after NLSIU Bangalore. Similar to previous year, West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences in Kolkata has claimed the fourth position.

This year, AIIMS Delhi continued to hold the top rank among the best medical institutes. The Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) in Chandigarh comes in second place after them. Additionally holding their third and fourth places, respectively, were the Christian Medical College and the National Institute of Mental Health & Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) in Bangalore. The Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education & Research, Puducherry, has also managed to hold onto the fifth position.
