The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will next week declare the final result of the Civil Services Examinations (CSE) 2023. Candidates who appeared for the interview can check their results at the official websites – upsc.gov.in and upsconline.nic.in.
The UPSC CSE exam is held in three phases – prelims, mains and interview. While the UPSC CSE 2023 prelims exam was conducted on May 28, the CSE mains UPSC exam was held from September 15, 2023 for five days. Candidates who cleared the mains were called for the interview round which was conducted between January 4 and April 9, 2024.
The Commission seeks to fill 1,105 vacancies through the 2023 recruitment process. Candidates who score above the cut-off marks will be recruited to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and other central services and posts.
A candidate who meets the eligibility requirements may try the UPSC test up to six times. However, those who fall under the PwBD and OBC categories will receive nine chances. Additionally, there is a relaxation in the amount of tries allowed to applicants who fall under the SC and ST categories.
150 positions in IFoS and 1,056 positions for CSE 2024 have been announced. The UPSC CSE 2024 preliminary exams are scheduled for May 26. Those who get more than the minimum qualifying score can apply for the UPSC IAS Main examination.
The five-day UPSC CSE Main exam will be descriptive and take place starting on September 20. Candidates will be chosen for the various services and positions through an interview process that will take place after the CSE Mains examination.
