NCERT launches a 24 week free online Business Studies course via SWAYAM for Class 12 students.
The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has announced the launch of a comprehensive, free online course in Business Studies for Class 12 students hosted on the SWAYAM platform. The 24-week programme runs from 22 September 2025 to 6 March 2026, with enrolment open until 20 February 2026.
Designed to align with the Class 12 curriculum in India, the course covers eight broad themes including the nature and significance of management, business environment, planning, organising, staffing, directing and controlling. It uses multi-format content video lessons, documents, weblinks and self-assessment modules complemented by discussion forums for peer and instructor interaction.
Offered free of charge, this initiative reflects NCERT’s push to broaden access to quality academic support beyond classrooms, especially for students preparing for board exams or simply looking to strengthen their understanding of business concepts. The certificate-bearing final assessment is scheduled for 3 March 2026 (though date may vary depending on seat availability).
For Class 12 students, this represents an excellent opportunity: whether you are aiming for top marks in your boards, exploring future fields like business management, or just wanting to bolster your subject knowledge, this structured online course makes high-quality guidance accessible from home. Students should register soon, pace their learning over the six-month span, engage actively in forum discussions, and view the certificate as a useful addition to their academic profile.
In a time when learning modalities are increasingly hybrid, NCERT’s move signals that online supplemental courses need not compromise on rigour, and may in fact complement classroom study very effectively. For students across India, this is one chance to turn extra time into meaningful academic growth.
