Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi has launched a five-year Integrated MBA curriculum (BBA Analytics Honours and MBA DS and AI). IIT Mandi has declared that it is the first IIT to offer this subject.
This degree seeks to provide students with a thorough grasp of management, as well as abilities in analytics, data science, mathematics, and statistics. The institute’s goal is to train future corporate leaders with a strong interest in technology and cross-functional management abilities.
In the early years, the programme at IIT Mandi aims to hone students’ critical thinking and creative skills through foundational courses in management, analytics, mathematics, statistics, communication and personality development. In the later years, the programme provides specialised courses to enable students with the skills needed to apply technology across the functional areas of management.
The integrated programme will offer students the opportunity to secure a master’s degree in management right after 10+2 from a top-tier institute in the country. With industrial internships, training, and exposure to diverse business environments, the programme aims to create socially aware managers with a strong appreciation for technology and human values.
Students will be able to undertake two industry internships, of which one will be of six months duration, ensuring substantial exposure to the world of business. Another will give students the opportunity to explore entrepreneurship as a career option by giving them access to the incubation centre of IIT Mandi.
On completion of three years, upon exit, the candidate would be awarded a BBA Analytics degree, on successful completion of four years, upon exit, the student would earn a BBA Analytics (Honours) degree. And finally, after successful completion of the full 5-years of IMBA programme, the students will earn two separate degrees, that is, BBA Analytics (Honours) under the IMBA, and MBA DS and AI under the IMBA programme.
